Wells Fargo Online Double Billing

In yet another public black eye for the banking institution, Wells Fargo customers took to social media Wednesday after being charged twice for online bill payments and long wait times on the bank’s customer service line. They acknowledged the overbilling in a tweet, according to a Wells Fargo spokeswoman.

Beltrami County Sheriff’s Reports

During a traffic stop Wednesday at 10:56pm near Anne Street and Irvine Avenue NW in Bemidji, Beltrami County Sheriff’s deputies cited John Weeks and 19-year-old Delaney Crowl for possession of drug paraphernalia. No additional information was made available.

On Wednesday at 10:18pm in the area of Theater Lane NW in Bemidji, 50-year-old Carl Taylor was cited for driving after license revocation and a stop sign violation, and 34-year-old passenger Amanda May was arrested on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop.

Beltrami County Sheriff’s deputies provided an agency assit to Bemidji Police on Wednesday at about 5:14pm in the area of Loon Lodge Lane in Bemidji, where 23-year-old Marissa Graves was reportedly taken into custody for a probation violation.

Klobuchar Collects on Vikings’ Bet

Minnesota Democtratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar on Wednesday collected her winnings from a Vikings-Saints wager with Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy. Kennedy offered Klobuchar a king cake — a traditional Mardi Gras cake, according to a video of the exchange, sent out to Minnesotans by her office.

MnDOT Public Comment Period

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is accepting public comments on rules governing public transit. Comments can be made by going to MnDOT’s rulemaking webpage and clicking on the “comment on rules” section. There is no deadline for the public comment period at this time.

Former Councilor Dies

Former Bemidji city council member Barbara Meuers died Tuesday at her home at age 66. Born in 1951 in Fergus Falls, Meuers came to Bemidji by way of attending BSU for a degree in social services. She served on the council from 2003 to 2010.

Stabbing Suspect in Crow Wing Court

37-year-old David Otey, accused of stabbing his sister multiple times in the neck and leaving her for dead, made his first appearance Tuesday in Crow Wing County District Court in Brainerd, where he was charged with felony second-degree intentional murder without premeditation.
