Lakewalk Construction Approved

The pricetag for redesign and repairs for Lakewalk along Lake Superior in Duluth, will be around $9 million… that’s what an engineering and consulting firm says it will cost to repair the trail after a pair of storms eroded rock, shifted earth and flipped boardwalk pieces. An application for emergency funding was approved in May. Duluth will foot part of the cost, but the majority will be paid for through the State of Minnesota Homeland Security Emergency Management. If everything goes according to plan, bidding for the construction will begin in September, construction will start in October, and the Lakewalk will be fixed by late 2019.
