STARRY TREK PLANNED

Starry trek is a state wide event to have volunteers look for starry stonewort. Beltrami county has 6 of the 14 starry stonewort infested bodies of water in the state. Prevention and early detection is seen as the only way to effectively manage starry stonewort. YOu can volunteer and sign up at www.maisrc.umn.edu. The event is seen as a terrific way for people to get outdoors, get educated about aquatic invasive species, and help protect area lakes. No experience or equipment is necessary.
