Red Lake Drug Bust

Red Lake Police are reporting today on a major drug bust, where twelve people were arrested last week on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Police reportedly seized large amounts of drugs, cash and stolen property while executing three search warrants at three separate homes following a “notable” uptick in overdoses.

Beltrami County Sheriff’s Reports

On Tuesday at 9:22pm, Beltrami County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a complainant who reported a male party in the area of Irvine Avenue NW in Bemidji was burning garbage. 36-year-old Jason Allen was cited by deputies for a violation of Minnesota state code.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complainant in the area of Main Street in Kelliher who made a fraud complaint to responding deputies. The nature of the fraud allegation was not released by the Sheriff’s Office.

During a traffic stop on Tuesday at 12:31am an unidentified 25-year-old male was arrested by Beltrami County Sheriff’s deputies for outstanding warrants, driving after license revocation, drug possession and no motor vehicle insurance at the intersection of Washington Avenue S and Rako Street SW.

Church Film Screening, Discussion

Payday Lending Law

Congress votes today on a bill that would allow so-called payday lenders with banks to offer very high interest loans despite state laws. Rebecca Borne from the Center for responsible lending said it’s called the Protect Consumers Access to Credit Act of 2017.

Wolf Snare Warning

A wolf was shot and killed in a snare– illegally missing owner identification- in Duluth, and Dr. Maureen Hackett of Howling For Wolves, said [quote] “Most people don’t know that hidden all over our woods are snares that trap dogs and wild animals alike, holding them in misery until their death.” [end quote]

Red Lake Tribal Leader Passes

Red Lake Tribal Council member Richard Barrett Sr. has died. The council’s Facebook page posted the notice on Monday afternoon, Barrett, who was 75, is survived by his wife and family members. He was first elected to the tribal council in 2002.

Thief River Teen Charged

19-year-old Logan Lane of Thief River Falls was charged in Pennington County District Court with felony counts of criminal sexual assault following a high school house party. An initial hearing has been set for March 3.

Itasca County Missing Teen

Itasca County officials are asking for the public’s help in locating 17 year old Bali Mariah Frazer. She is 5-foot-3, 120 lbs, with Blue Eyes and Blonde Hair.
