Some Camping to Resume

Effective September 3, camping on Superior National Forest lands outside of developed campgrounds will again be open to visitors. This includes backcountry sites and dispersed camping. At the same time, the Forest is lifting a heavy equipment restrictions, effective September 3, which allows certain land management activities to again operate during normal business hours. Forest officials made the decision to lift the closure as fall temperatures, recent rains, and shorter days have helped to moderate fire conditions and active fires.
